Starlight
I went out to the beach tonight. The moon was a sliver of golden crescent among the stars, just enough to cast a flickering glow across the water.
I looked up and remembered how grand the universe is. Knowing so close to the city that all I could see was still just the brightest and closest specs.
It made me wonder. If this world is just a grain of sand around just one small star, and I am just one man among the billions of a species that didn't yet exist when the light of those stars first shone,
Just how insignificant my fear must truly be.
